Even LIRR Tours won't use the Greenport Scoot |

You have to get a rather early connection (7:38am) for a Montauk train to Westhampton, then ride a stickin' bus to Cutchogue. But you have the option of taking the evening train back from Greenport. It would be more pleasant to get the 9:12 to Ronkonkoma/Greenport, then use buses only from Mattituck to Greenport, and not back to Westhampton. What problem does the RR have using its own product ? Need to put a 3rd coach on the train and double-spot at Mattituck ? Friday is when they swap out the Scoot equipment anyway. LIRR wants the customer, even its won internal customer, the Tour Department, to fit the product, not the product fit the customer. |
