Maybe more deregulation, because all of US liberal regulation with respect to railroads favors diesel-electric. Just what higher and wider cars do you think are going to pass under this bridge, really? Any new passenger platforms will be high level, automatically restricting width to 10' 8" max. Nothing higher than about 16' can go further east, unless you think that freight is going to traverse these tracks again? which there is absolutely no indication of. |
