That would not be true if the 75-footers had five doors per side instead of just four, like the R44s, 46s and 68s do. A train of eight 75-foot R211s with five doors would have the same number of side doors as a train of ten 60-footers - 40.

Also, not all R160s can be used on the Eastern Division. The 5-car sets are restricted from the East because you can't run 10-car trains there. So unless you want to run trains of only five cars on the J, L and M lines (and why would you?), the R160s in 5-car sets cannot be used on the J, L or M lines any more than 75-foot cars can.

If the R143s, R160s, and upcoming R179s and R211s were all 60-foot cars configured in pairs, then they could run anywhere. But the 143s and 160s aren't and the 179s won't be.
