Plus,60 footers can run anywhere on the IND and BMT. 75 footers cannot operate on the J/Z, M, or L lines so equipment flexibility is not 100% as would be the case with 60 footers.Ah, another person with the irrational thought that each and every car in the system must be run through the eastern division. Station dwells are increased because a full length train of 75 foot cars has 32 doors per side versus 40 on a 60 foot car. Says who? They can have 5 doors, or they can have 3 doors like WMATA or even 2 like BART. |
