No more 60 foot car orders, for now., posted by Henry R32 #3730 on Mon Aug 25 20:18:22 2014. in the past..cars needed to be interchangeable..to be able to operate on ALL lines.the EAST was planned to be rebuilt so the 75ft cars could operate there without restrictions.That didn't pan out,and there are no plans to revive it. Today,that is not entirely the case..since the east is almost entirely equipped with new rolling stock. so..for the foreseeable future..the R143/160A/179 rail cars are it,ALL 60FT..with no one complaining. |
