"For most of Conduit between Crossbay and Euclid, Conduit, North and South leave a wide grassy mall for what was to be a subway.""The wide median is for the aqueduct that used to be there, not the subway that never was." Which is presumably why the street is called Conduit.... The subway was to have been under Pitkin, anyway, not Conduit. Conduit crosses Pitkin at an acute angle. Presumably the subway along Pitkin would have had to drop down to a lower level at that intersection, to get under the aqueduct, or conduit? |
