The only other alternative is to have the PANYNJ go back to its roots. That is, to sell off most of its real estate holdings and do what it was originally intended to do- run the bridges and tunnels, as a bi-state agency. This whole mess began in 1962, when they took over PATH and decided to knock down the old Hudson Terminal Buildings, in favor of building and keeping the WTC towers.I am not in favor of making the MTA any bigger by giving it some of the PA's assets. Personally, I wouldn't shed a tear if they broke that up, also. The City should own the MTA's bridges, tunnels, and, most importantly, the TA. |
