Well ... when running them, yardmasters were generally kind enough to ensure that the #2 end of the car was at the lead and the tail, and inside the cab you got your growl loud and clear when that was the case. So hearing the motors was rarely an issue unless some idiot pointed the 1 end out. And as to the doors, heh ... if that pin didn't drop into the hole, the indication fairy was out on a comfort break. A small beating usually solved that. If they didn't have to swing panels, then it was still a good door. :)If I'd had enough advance warning, probably would have come down for it and busted yer chops personally. Heh. |
