The catch is that the R-32s would not survive the tunnel heat. All RTO has to do is remove every train with hot cars from service and bury Car Equipment with work and falling MDBF. I had proposed that rather than the costly equipment swap, the C's be run to Howard Beach for the summer. This would give the compressor motors the needed break to cool off. |
