Some congressman probably lives near there and could secure federal funding as a "demonstration project" to get it rebuilt and reopened. They would cut the ribbon and anxiously await the first passenger to board the new train and act genuinely shocked when no one appeared. I am only being half facetious here. I have driven through no small number of rural areas that have immaculate, brand-new, empty four-lane divided highways that are clearly overkill while congested areas get nothing useful. |
