It's also not typical of most of the rest of the stations on Long Island.

It's something that's come up on other a transit advocacy website recently, and the argument has been that we need more Mineolas on Long Island at minimum, and arguably more far more in the way of denser development around of stations. Of course, there's a lot of institutional and political bias against said type of development in the suburbs, especially on Long Island...
