If there were any Hi-Vs in passenger service in 1959 it must have been very early 1959 since in February of that year, the massive West Side IRT Route changes went into effect making the Bway (#!) exclusively R-21 and 22. I recall riding both the Bway 137 St locals and Lenox locals in late 1958 and early 1959 and they were solid Lo-V by then. As I mentioned, there were Hi-Vs in work service after that but I never saw any Hi-Vs in passenger service after that. |
