All Triplexes were built by Pressed Steel.AFAIK they received very little maintenance and still ran well. I never rode on them myself, although we were in the city during their final week of service in July of 1965 and rode exclusively on the Southern Division. I did get to ride on a few Norton trains of shiny new R-32s, though. From what I've heard, the Triplexes accelerated on the slow side, but once they got up to speed, they could really move. |
