The last of the Triplexes were pulled (prematurely) a year earlier. Hindsight being 20/20, it would have been a good idea.IIRC 32 R-16s were borrowed from ENY and sent to the GG and an equal group of condemned standards were yanked off the scrap line, had their S for Scrap painted over and put back in revenue service, mostly on the rush hour-only Broadway-Brooklyn local. |
