"There *ARE* things that only government can take care of, but all ought to be done at the LOWEST level of government possible."This is a fine principle known as subsidiarity, which is sorely lacking in government today. That is why everyone cries that Uncle Sam should pay to build subways and other infrastructure in New York City; we have forgotten the value of subsidiarity. New York City taxes should pay for New York City infrastructure. |
