Agreed, even though it's a very secondary airport connection, and it would be a bit strange having trains terminating from opposite directions one station apart.Yup. My initial thought was to terminate the (C) at Howard Beach for Airport people, then I though "Well, they might as well combine it with the Rockaway Park shuttle after all." The problem is the (C) currently runs more often than the Rockaway Park train. The current schedules show (C) trains every 10 minutes during most of the day weekdays, with intervals on the Rockaway Park (S) ranging from 13 to 18 minutes. If it were 20 minutes, I'd say "End alternate (C) trains at Howard Beach, and send the others through to Rockaway Park." But that would result in a reduction of service to Rockaway Park. Would that be tolerated? |
