They added, "GG LOCAL" to the side route signs. The route sign in my BMT standard sign box has one of those.

IIRC when the Jamaica Yard crisis hit, 32 R-16s were borrowed from the Three Stooges Division and put in service on the GG with new signs spliced in while those condemned BMT standards were assigned to the Broadway-Brooklyn local.
