A memory about the BB: The northbound runs began on the northbound express track at Herald Square. Mom sometimes used it because it offered a much better chance at getting a seat than on the Broadway-Seventh Avenue. So what if it made all stops and you had to transfer to the A or the Bwy-7th at 168 Street. Besides, you were riding the newer Independent subway system, noticeably cleaner. |
