No, to serve justice. That's the system we have. You have now dismissed the police chief and the County DA as mere "politicians".

I wouldn’t say that. If you said no felony I would agree. Depending on what a further investigation may demonstrate all I see are one or two A Misdemeanors, but even then New York has a pretty high threshold for “reckless” that those who don’t know New York Penal Law Section 15.05(3) would assume was met just by hearing the word.

If you are in my way can I just shove you out of my way, even though that injures you seriously? Don't I have an obligation to go around you?

Or if I, as a police officer, have already ordered you out of my way for legitimate reasons, isn't my recourse to arrest you rather than to shove you?

But those trouble makers who destroyed and looted business and caused so much destruction in many of our cities should be punished to the full extent of the law.

I agree completely. In my neighborhood someone torched a NYPD Homeless Outreach Unit van, and a bakery that had a regular program to give away food got its window broken, among many others.

However, the 75-year-old in Buffalo wasn't a vandal or looter.

Reread the post that you replied to along with the one right before that. JayZee called Train Dude's imagination sick and twisted for suggesting that the cops didn't intend to hurt the old man. You stated essentially the same thing. Using logical reasoning, your imagination must also be sick and twisted.

I disagree with it being "almost certainly a crime" without any intent. They were marching in formation. I would say a slight push (that's what it looked like to me in the video) to someone deliberately getting into one's face would be the right thing to do. The gentleman then lost his balance and fell backwards. No criminality.
