Why? This guy obviously had balance problems. Your pretending that he voluntarily chose to walk backward is completely nonsensical.

Yes, you are saying he chose to do what he did, and that it was his fault. By implication, whenever any old codger falls, it's his own damn fault. He should have chosen to be more careful.

I think he exaggerated. Probably didn't expect to spill blood but definitely wanted to have his own police brutality moment.

He wasn't totally innocent or blameless.

Stepping up was his fault.

His fall was an odd overreaction and not consistent with a light push.

Nobody aged 75 deliberately allows to let himself fall backward on his head. If he was faking his fall he would have spun around so that he landed on his arms.

He may have been trying to make trouble by blocking the police - I have no way of knowing that. But falling backward like that deliberately would be insane - a great recipe for permanent disability, which may be what he is headed for.

OK, but far less likely.

Anyway, you are evading the issue that the cop either should have arrested the guy for impeded the police, or else walked around him. There was no possible circumstance under which pushing him was the right thing to do.

He's not some innocent elderly man waiting in line at the buffet. He was physically confronting cops taking control of a situation.

Sadly I think if this was a conflict between protesters an arrest would be made a cops would see it like you do.

Bullshit. Do you believe that "serious" condition. I'm sure that was put out by his attorney. They always say that. I never believe anything the press says, left OR right. I know. I've been involved in civil cases where there was no force or very little force involved where the lawyer said his client was hospitalized in serious condition including two cases where we released the perp on a DAT and they thanked us on leaving.
