I don’t know what the rules are but in other cities people in similar situations were beat with batons, pushed to the ground and shot with non-lethal weapons.

What would you have done? Have the whole procession walk around him? I'm sure that would have made him go home. Or maybe yell "about face" and have the whole procession go in the other direction. The whole reason for them being there is to march with the protesters and keep the peace.

the soft shove in Buffalo is nothing compared to the NYPD video that went viral.

The one from Lower East Side where cops are making a social distancing arrest and one cop leaves the perp and his partners and proceeds about 30 feet to get in the face of an onlooker(most likely to intimidate people with video) who he first bitch slaps. I'd say the evidence in that case is far more serious against the cop.

I never said that the Buffalo case was the only case of inappropriate misconduct. 75 year olds are a lot more fragile than 30 year olds, however.

It goes back to people who are not in the business have an opinion about what should have been done. Or how something is wrong. I don’t like that the man cracked his head on the ground but he shouldn’t have been approaching them like that.

i have to agree with you.

Would cops be so open minded if say, you or I was being confronted by a stranger in the same manner and we pushed him out of the way and he fell backwards like this? Cops would be anxious to arrest a civilian caught in the same situation. That's one thing we must remember about police.

What bothers me about this is the callous disregard of the police that stepped over and around a bleeding man on the street. The original shove may have been reflexive, not really premeditated, but the disregard for him AFTER is to my mind criminal. Police are supposed to protect and serve. Not one of those cops protected this man, nor did they serve him with first aid they are trained to provide.
