Are you defending executives getting golden parachutes too?

You've established nothing either. The burden is on you as you've stated it was corruption and offered no evidence for said assertion

No, the burden is on you to prove that it's not corruption. Abuse of company funds in this manner is indeed corruption; now, prove that it is not. You're assuming that "corrupt" also means "illegal"—whereupon is your faulty premise.

You've not established why it was the wrong choice, only citing that it is corrupt, which you have not demonstrated

Ah, so have you abandoned common sense here? $210 million awarded to a company executive who fails is not corrupt? You perpetually evade that question.

That they are not entitled to the same job security is not relevant to this discussion, as the fact that they are not does not mean that they should or should not be, it only means that it is the current practice. If a union wanted to include an anti-firing clause in its contract, then I would not be against it.

Here you go throwing the words "job security" into the fray again (again as a fallacy), when this is not about job security, which entails people retaining their jobs in the face of adverse judgment upon the quality of their work, not being canned and getting more than several lifetimes of wages for it. Types of job security range from employment contracts that guarantee employment over a certain period of years to tenure. This is independent of compensation, the core of this discussion, and the core of what you are defending.

I have wasted enough time on you. Others can read this and form their own opinions on whose arguments are more solid.

And one specific point:

And you've done nothing to injure my credibility, nor have I done so myself herein.

An unfounded assertion, you are not privy to the opinions of others regarding credibility. In this circumstance I can clearly recall instances where your credibility has been impugned by other, credible Subchatters.

Oh, give it one more try. Please defend the golden parachute syndrome again; it's so much fun to tear apart.

They'll either be right like me, or wrong like you. If you're worried about people's opinions more than what's right and what's wrong, you may have a future in politics . . . but you'll be very poor at getting things right.

you are not privy to the opinions of others regarding credibility

There you go with that "opinion" thingy again. I'm not courting people's opinions. And I don't see the opinionated rallying to your defense; whereas I've had a couple of posters here on "my side", for whatever that is worth.

In this circumstance I can clearly recall instances where your credibility has been impugned by other, credible Subchatters

This is a unique circumstance, I'd say (meaning this thread).

All I can recall is that others have disagreed with me. All you've done here is fall into the same category. And people are not uniquely credible or non-credible, which makes your statement biased.

I don't think congressmen should be allowed work less and less everyyear, as the country falls further into disrepair and crisis. I don't think these same sleazy fucks should be giving themselves free lifetime healthcare, offices, and pay raises whenever they wish, but they raid social security, mess up the insurance system, ignore the infrastucture, and tell you the minimum wage increase is bad. It's hypocritical.

These people haven't acheived a single thing in their life except being in the lucky sperm club in most cases. The only thing they've accomplished is raiding the treasury for their personal gain, while doing the opposite for you.
I am in favor of merit based systems, and bonus's for doing good work. It seems this type of thing never made it passed the education and restaurant industries. Want to make money doing nothing with warrentless power? Run for Senate, set your own salary and vacation time. And then don't show up.

If we indexed something in the country to them, like minimum wage increases to their percentage salary increases...just as some states index their min wage to inflation, or some other measure, we need to index something to their butts. If we indexed taxes to the budget, or deficit, that'll really get things in gear.
I do enjoy that people who get free healthcare dictate it to the rest of us.

I don't know what HD pays. I just used what to my knowledge that is a fairly normal retail wage. Of course an HD in the middle of Manhatten will pay more than other states.
I don't think they pay much more than that however.

My point is when you say $1000 per person it doesn't sound like much at first, but when you quantify that per person in their situation, it's huge. Stores don't give more than .25 or .50 raises without a promotion, which $1,000/bonus might be.
