It has decided benefits for specific medical purposes. Hormones taken needlessly without medical supervision have serious health risks and can do permanent damage. |

They are both dangerous in excess and yet only one is banned. Legalizing would regulate, standardize and purify the dosages and result in billions in new tax revenues, as well as severely hurting the drug cartels. The prohibition of marijuana has had the same effects of empowering the mob as the prohibition of alcohol did in the 20s. |

How about its similarities to tobacco. It causes lung cancer, throat cancer, emphazema, and heart disease, just like tobacco. And while prohibition empowered the mob I'm willing to bet there was a big tradeoff in domestic violence, DDI accidents, liver disease, etc.And whatever medical benefits it might have (which I don't believe it has) medicine has equal drugs with the same benefits. http://www.southparkstudios.com/full-episodes/s14e03-medicinal-fried-chicken

It's isn't consumed in the kinds of quantities daily over half a lifespan to cause those kind of problems. Yes, the carcinogens and tar are in the smoke (as they are in ALL smoke) but the consumption level are so low as to negate the risk. One would pass out long before they could equal the same carcinogen consumption a pack a day smoker gets. There have been studies and marijuana use has been linked to lower crime rates, especially low level street crimes as its calming effects produce lethargy. Medicine has tried to reproduce the effect of THC with other drugs. That has been proven in studies with chemotherapy patients. Google some. Natural THC increases appetite and reduces nausea (what good is hunger if nothing stays down, the shortcoming with synthetics), which also reduces anemia requiring lowered doses of drugs to resolve that side effect of chemotherapy for certain cancers. The fewer drugs, the lower doses of needed drugs the better. Any patient getting sufficient nutrition during therapies that border on lethal has a better chance of survival than one that does not. |

Everyone who does something truly dangerous or illegal started with something minor that was less so. But the converse is not true - not everyone who starts with minor peccadilloes ends up in rehab or on death row. |

Get your prescription, and 100mg's of T a week. It's such a small amount, and has health benefits. By comparison, a bodybuilder would take 1,000-2,000mg's a week plus three or four other drugs. |
