Posted by GP38/R42 Chris on Wed Jul 25 22:42:11 2012 So, went to Liberal Democratic Whole Foods today, as Trader Joes is right across the street, and that's where I like to shop, but figured I would pick up a few things at Whole Foods too.Anyway, in the parking lot was a whole area next to the handicapped spots of "Parking for fuel efficient cars"..... Can they even enforce something like that? I felt like parking in the spot just for the principle of the thing, and someone else did too, as there was a large pick up truck in one of the spots. In any event, I didn't park there, and bought my stuff, and the check out girl actually asked me if I wanted a bag for my stuff. I guess I wasn't being politically correct by not taking one of those filthy reusable bags with me....

It was pricey and I don't think that I can afford to shop there very often.As for the parking, they need to add a minimum MPG because I don't even know what that means. |

Yeah, while my cart was full at Trader Joes, I only walked out with about 4 things at Whole Foods (some frozen Mexican meals). It's terribly pricey, even for stuff you can get elsewhere.As for the parking, I agree. Like I said, someone with a huge pick up was in one of the spots, and I was tempted myself to park there too just for the principal of the thing. |

"Fuel efficient" is pretty meaningless on its own. That pickup truck is far more fuel efficient if the job is hauling a large and heavy load. For a few sacks of groceries, maybe not.If the bed of the pickup were fully loaded, and the driver was stopping in to do some shopping in the middle of their other work, then that pickup would be far more deserving of a "reserved for fuel efficient vehicles" than some Prius owner who should have just ridden their bicycle to the store. |
