I don't know for certain, but there are must be specific tax rules for the President. If a typical citizen were provided housing by his or her employer, the fair market rental cost of that housing (plus the associated staff costs) would be considered taxable income. This is not the case for the President. State income is typically payable where you work, not where you live. So, an Illinois resident who does most of their work in DC would owe tax first to DC, and they would then get a credit for the tax paid to DC when they filed in Illinois. That is also not the case for the President. |

In this case, Obama is making real donations to charity. He takes the income from his books and gives it away, so he doesn’t have that income to use. And, it appears, he doesn’t get anything back.Compare and contrast, the socialites who give lots of money to the Opera Houses and Theaters in the big cities. They get board seats, invitations to special galas, etc, etc. Is that really charity? |

You have arguments here?I've yet to ever see anyone explain themselves on here or have given me anything factual about anything. Some of it is just plan ignored, like itallionstallions claims the deficit was fixed from obamacare, but we get weekly reports that it's ruining the deficit. That's just a general example. |

"He takes the income from his books and gives it away,"He never gave to charity before becoming president. He's doing it so he doesn't get impeached and locked in prison. Don't make forced donations like taxes into some hero worshipping. Source? Look at subchat 3 years ago. Secondly, who would've known kickbacks and cronyism gets taxes less than 'work'. |

According to Wikipedia, Johnson is 31 years old and now attends Harvard Law School. I don’t know about her personal life or what her deductions would be, so I can’t assume any children or extra deductions. On a $90,000 salary, she would pay $16,578 in federal taxes, $3,780 to Social Security, and $1,305 in Medicare taxes. Note to Mr. Koffler: there's a big difference between "would pay" and "did pay," especially when you know she's in school and would have some related deductions and credits. |
