Why inevitable acquittal?If the prosecutor can avoid getting the case dismissed due to the Stand Your Ground law, she has a very good chance of getting a manslaughter conviction. There's no doubt Zimmerman acted recklessly. If he'd just followed the dispatcher's advice, nothing would have happened. I still think the facts are pretty irrelevant. What matters most is whether the judicial system will let him off based on Stand Your Ground, irrespective of the facts. |

I've been through Sanford, Fla just a few times. It looked like the kind of place that one might very well hear "Dueling Banjos"coming from the woods. I also heard that at one time there was a sign on I-4 proclaiming Sanford as "Clan Country" so I never felt that it was a particularly inviting place. However if you used the Autotrain or went from Tampa to Daytona, you couldn't avoid the place. |

I think if you're white and been around a lot of black people, like I have, you tend to profile less. It's no big deal for me to go railfanning, or whatever reason, in a black neighborhood. But for so many in the south, multicultural communities is not what they planned when they migrated south. So they tend to be uncomfortable around them.Many figured they'd be living with senior citizens, not realizing how many blacks and Hispanics are down there. Many are moving back north to Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania or wherever they're from. No, his neighborhood did not look so nice. His parents were idiots for moving there. I don't know why northerners like it so much. |
