Picking a different vp couldn't have hurt. It might've helped McCain, if he wasn't too busy being too nice to Obama. |

Even if the primary does not go into the convention a sizeable fraction of the 20 to 30 percent of the nation normally counted on as loyal Republican voters, likely the right wing Christian fundamentalists Sanctorum appeals to, may well stay home on election day.Wrong. You are greatly underestimating another big chunk of the GOP electoral base, that is the racists. Nothing will keep such people from their last chance of voting out the illegitimate Kenyan Negroid. you think it's loyalty to lobbyists, financiers or Christian proselytizers that are gonna determine the votes of the likes of OBS, LuchAAA, vfrt or chicagomotorman? |

I have no real understanding of how big the racist block is. But I think it overlaps only slightly with the fundamentalist block. In cotnrast to 50 years ago, most racists don't go to church nowadays. |

The "staying home" theory would be valid if the other nominee were not a black man. A lot of the non-churchgoing racists would stay home if Romney's opponent were Biden or Hillary. |

Think about every man and women.Almost all have a touch of bias in their hearts. Some more that others. Was the big turnout, for Obama, by the black community, just to be a part of history? It is racist, to vote for someone, because of color, just as to vote against him, because of color. A race card is race Card. Some have many in their deck. Obama has to expect religion cards, health cards, sovereignty cards, nationalism cards, and economy cards to trump his Dodge the truth with a race cards. |

It is racist, to vote for someone, because of color, just as to vote against him, because of color. It is not racist (though it is often foolish) to vote for someone out of pride in your ethnic group. Greek-Americans voted far more Democratic in 1988 than any other year, and no one called them racist. It would be more reprehensible to vote against someone because of their ethnicity, whether that is due to skin color or national origin. Because then it's not due to pride but due to hatred. PS. I think voting for your ethnic group is usually dumb. But I think it originates is foolish motives, not ill-intentioned ones. |

If a white person votes for the white candidate because he's white and the other one is black, but he does it because the first guy is "white" it would be racist. However society thinks the opposite is acceptible....voting for Obama because he's black. |

No, I am saying that it's not. If a white person votes for a white person if their's a black running, if they say they are voting "because he's greek, white, or whatever", it would be labeled "racism", but the same won't be said if a Black votes for a Black candidate because he's Black. Then of course it's "Black Pride". White Pride is "racism". |

The difference is that that many ethnicities also happen to be white. Black seems to be lumped into all Black ethnicities, but white isn't.You don't hear someone saying "I am voting for someone because he's Kenyan". But you will hear "Italian", but technically, those aren't parallel. Italians are whites. |

I'm an Italian with a white appearance so it's different. I can blend in with regular white people. Italians are "ethnics" to most of America. "Ethnic" in appearance, name, values, etc......I think most leftists would say that Italians have no right to vote based ethnicity because they have not known the suffering blacks, gays, Latinos and women have known in this country. The groups I have mentioned have a licence to vote based on race or gender. Everyone else is a racist and sexist. THIW. |
