You are aware that they are free to nominate whoever they want. The question is how badly they're going to lose.I wouldn't vote for Rmoney, he's impossible to trust. If a RWNB Congress was to overturn Griswold, Eisenstadt or Roe I do NOT trust him to veto those potential bills. Nor do I trust a republican Congress to not pass them. After all, look at the havoc they caused with their ban on D&X (a procedure that came into use maybe 5000 times since 1973, nor is it anything close to what the RW characterized it as). |

Both Santorum and Gingrich have nothing else to do other than to milk this election for everything they want. Both have neither the funding to last a long fight against Obama and are both 'too extreme' for the independents. Romney as bad as he is, is the only one of the group that makes the most sense against Obama. |

Rmoney has been acting just as extreme lately. You have to doubt his sincerity when he claims to be centrist. I'll stick with who we have. Though not perfect, he won't sellout reproductive rights or healthcare reform. He could do more for the economy, right now Congress has nothing but stop any efforts to do anything. Rmoney, Sanctorum, and Ging-rich are very nearly the embodiment of the three elements of the Republican's Nixon/Reagan/Rove coalitions. Those of course being the financier, the proslytizer, and the lobbyist. Each group has their demands, many of which are mutually exclusive of the other groups'. Other Republican candidates in years past have at least covered two or more of their constituent groups, but this year the closest they have is trailing a distant third. This year's vicious primary battle is simply the final collapse of the coalition which allowed them to hold sway over so much of the electorate for years.Even if the primary does not go into the convention a sizeable fraction of the 20 to 30 percent of the nation normally counted on as loyal Republican voters, likely the right wing Christian fundamentalists Sanctorum appeals to, may well stay home on election day. That is of course unless Sanctorum decides to run as a third party candidate. It's possible the VP nomination may get some voters out, but we saw how well that worked in 2008. |

Being how much 'love' Santorum has for Romney, I wouldn't be surprised if he did try to run as a 3rd part candidate just to 'stick it' to Romney and the GOP for snubbing him (should/when Romney gets the nomination). If the GOP wants a repeat of the Palin disaster, they'd pick her again. If they do pick Palin again, then the election is pretty much fixed. Palin was a mistake, Biden as much an idiot he is with his dumb comments, at least has 'experience' which was McCain's supposed strong point. |

Don't ask me, ask him why he thinks the GOP are Nazis. I'm pointing out how he'd like it if I made an equally absurd extremist comment.I dunno what is it about the party that makes you think they are "fascist papists', but each party are obviously trying to appeal to some demographic and the GOP are more associated with the far right the way the democrats are with the far left. So if you are far left, then everything is 'normal' and anything else is too 'far right' to you. |
