I worked to try to get Goldwater elected too. But yeah, going and pulling a lever once a year is hard work and all that a citizen should be expected to endure. I think America as a whole is a giant college student waiting until 5am to begin doing their college paper thats due at 11am. The problem is that America has fallen to ideologies that don't work, our political system lacks those who are more moderate and those who are moderate are afraid of speaking out because the radicals that now control both sides will attack quite quickly.McCain has been extremely silent on this debt issue which is a shock, john kerry too, and Im tired of seeing this small time members of congress both democratic and republican think they can upstage the president Like it's a badge of honor to disagree or fight against the president. That says something about society and our culture. At a time where partisan politics needs to be thrown away and real solutions even though they may be unpopular must be done, we're turning away and it's an absolute shame. |

Unlike others, I can understand that Unca Chris has other things to do, and at the same time I don't want to put these away in bookmarks either. So as far as those baggers go, along with a few surprises as well, here's the breakdown. It seems as though republicans don't have a problem with boomers, they're beating down "the silent generation" (a/k/a "greatest") ... THAT was a surprise. Biggest assholes ARE boomers though. LOLDemocratic Leadership Pelosi, Nancy 1940 Silent Hoyer, Steny 1939 Silent Clyburn, Jim 1940 Silent Republican Leadership Boehner, John 1949 Boomer Cantor, Eric 1963 Gen-X Blunt, Roy 1950 Boomer Tea Party Leadership Sarah Palin 1964 Gen-X Walker, Scott 1967 Gen-X Christie, Chris 1962 Gen-X So in the 112th Congress — 43 newly elected in GenX'ers in the House, raising the total to 90, and three in the Senate. All but two of the newcomers are Republicans, and Gen-Xers will comprise a full quarter of the GOP caucus. So rest assured, plenty of GenX assholes to go around, and the boomers (Boner and Blunt) will be gone next year leaving none in the leadership. Meanwhile, the biggest hating is on the "greatest generation" ... that's who stole your money and turned you commie. Happy, Ren? |

Thats why I don't get mad at Obama for HCR or I don't get mad at him for going after a bigger debt reduction package or asking for a tax increase. Yes the HCR isn't perfect, but hopefully future presidents can amend it, refine it, make it truly better. With the debt reduction this 2.4 trillion dollar reduction for a 2.7 trillion debt increase makes no sense whatsoever. Obama at this point at this late in the game has no choice but to accept this crap. I think had he known this was coming he probably would've pushed a debt increase during the democratic lame duck session.I don't like this debt package, we should've gone hardcore, 6-8 trillion looking to halve this debt, and get to work on a long term HCR solution. I dont expect these things to be popular but I voted for a president to make the decision no matter the popularity risk. If he pulled off a 6-8 trillion dollar reduction in the debt, with HCR, and going after Al Qaeda and he was a 1 term president, I'd be proud that he risked his presidency on making the tough choices. |

"Meaningful cuts are wasteful military spending including contracting out services for deployments such as KBR running mess halls, and unwanted programs like that plane the republicans just funded."Speaking of asinine, what plane did the republicans fund? Was this a military plane? Did the commander in chief veto it? Why would he buy a plane he didn't want? This sounds like your made up bullshit. |
