Thats why I don't get mad at Obama for HCR or I don't get mad at him for going after a bigger debt reduction package or asking for a tax increase. Yes the HCR isn't perfect, but hopefully future presidents can amend it, refine it, make it truly better. With the debt reduction this 2.4 trillion dollar reduction for a 2.7 trillion debt increase makes no sense whatsoever. Obama at this point at this late in the game has no choice but to accept this crap. I think had he known this was coming he probably would've pushed a debt increase during the democratic lame duck session.I don't like this debt package, we should've gone hardcore, 6-8 trillion looking to halve this debt, and get to work on a long term HCR solution. I dont expect these things to be popular but I voted for a president to make the decision no matter the popularity risk. If he pulled off a 6-8 trillion dollar reduction in the debt, with HCR, and going after Al Qaeda and he was a 1 term president, I'd be proud that he risked his presidency on making the tough choices. |
