My sincere condolences on your loss.

We will never forget all those lost, those who were sickened and since lost, and those who are suffering with 911 related medical issues today.

We will never forget. That day is seared into my mind. Remember every minute of it like it was yesterday. The wound heals but scars are Forever. The other pain is being with my mom later that day (when the NYC lockdown was lifted) seeing the anguish on her face knowing that her son was taken from her.

I learned a lot, particularly about how bad and insidious the left really is.

No mother ever expects a son to pass away. And happening like this is especially heartbreaking.

Were any remains recovered?

My mom gave DNA samples to the medical examiner via this little DNA collection kit which was made up of basically Q tip cotton swabs.
Appx 6 months later, the ME's office called up my mom that they "found a piece of him". It was about an 8 inch section of his right forearm. That was all that was left of him. The rest of him is no doubt "entombed" in the Fresh Kills landfill over in Staten Island.
The remains were cremated and returned to his wife and 3 kids by the NYPD. I was there when they came. They were in full dress & crisp looking uniforms wearing white gloves. Very classy.
His remains were enough ashes to fill an Altiods tin.
Thats the way it went down all those years ago.

I was in the concourse of the WTC that morning. Exiting the complex at 08:12 that morning. I didn't get home until the following morning. Returning on Saturday the 15th until I was mobilized in January 2003 for eventual deployment, and occupation of Iraq.

I saw the entire WTC attack in 3D living color. Not only seeing the jumpers from the North Tower, but hearing the bang of their bodies hitting the ground. The grey matter of pulverized concrete on the Brooklyn Bridge roadway, with people streaming across the bridge visually like refuges fleeing a war zone.

The odors coming from the pile that was the WTC was difficult to ignore, coming from directly across from Vesey Street.

I will not forget the sensation to the concussion of the first impact to the North Tower building, and the gaping hole will remain unforgettable.

One have had to have been physically down there to absorb what took place, because any description given by a non participant can only be a third hand account obtained from other sources.

Images of the attacks on Pearl Harbor will only remain as two dimensional images, but the Trade Center on 9/11 were a three dimensional event.
