As much as people like to say that, it just does not reflect the history of law enforcement in the US. Harassment of people for a wide range of beliefs has occurred in this country over and over by whoever is in power. If you think it is something new, or the bailiwick of one party, you are missing much of US history. |

It also has little to do with the function of law enforcement, whose job is to arrest and/or prosecute people they think are guilty. The jury is supposed to presume innocence, but certainly not the prosecution. |

I said there is a long history in the US of targeting people for a long list of reasons. This practice has gone on for much of the history of this country. That being the case, it doesn't change whether someone is or is not guilty of what they are charged with in any particular case. And even if one is not ok with a process, sometimes people are happy with the result. If the police and/or DA fudge the evidence so they get a conviction of someone who is guilty, but maybe the evidence is a bit weak most folks wouldn't bat an eyelash. And if he got out on appeal the same folks could not be happy. That's the real world. In my opinion - Yes, Trump is targeted, and Yes, Trump is dirty. If he wasn't targeted, he'd still be dirty. |
