SCOTUS Bitch-Slaps Trump
Posted by JayZeeBMT on Wed Jan 19 19:05:58 2022 SCOTUS ruled 8-1 that the Defeated Former Guy can't assert executive privilege to keep the White House's trove of January 6 documents and records from the House committee investigating the insurrection. Eight. To. One. The Defeated Former Guy fought real hard to keep those materials out of public scrutiny. It's gonna be interesting to see what that orange traitor was trying to hide. It's no "witch hunt". Again, Trump fought awfully hard to keep this material away from the American people. There's almost certainly a smoking gun in there. Was the forgery of Electoral College letters by Republicans in all seven battleground stares a "big nothing", too? Things are going downhill fast for the Defeated Former Guy.

Trump, like Nixon before him, tried to argue executive privilege to SCOTUS, and like Nixon before him, Trump lost. Nixon was trying to keep the actual Watergate tapes from being given to Congress and the special prosecutor, because he knew those records would cook his goose. I'm pretty sure Trump was also trying to keep his own highly damaging materials from Congress, fir much the same reasons as Nixon.

It's a clearly visible pattern of behavior he has repeatedly demonstrated throughout his entire adult life. His choices for SCOTUS are no exception to Trump's expectations. The difference with these jurists, however, is that he can't "punish" them for going against his wishes, like he can with legislators or governors. If those people cross Trump, he does everything he can to have them primaried, or discredited.
