Trump expexts and demands unquestioning loyalty from everyone he appoints, promotes, or otherwise does something for. It's a clearly visible pattern of behavior he has repeatedly demonstrated throughout his entire adult life. His choices for SCOTUS are no exception to Trump's expectations. The difference with these jurists, however, is that he can't "punish" them for going against his wishes, like he can with legislators or governors. If those people cross Trump, he does everything he can to have them primaried, or discredited.
