Without hesitation, the cops picked him up, and bodily hurled him off the bus. After that video circulated in the media for a few days, everybody the message.

However,based on my prior experience, these orders come with exceptions and exemptions. One that comes to mind is if the mask wearing interferes with someone's performance as a police officer.

Those that have other travel options have opted not to return to the subway. One fear is catching Covid. That mask requirements are not enforced and even flouted by those empowered to enforce these requirements re-enforces the message not to come back.

I know this is a mistake, but many riders will think their masks will give them sufficient protection against the occasional unmasked person. And given a choice between the unmasked cop and no cop at all, 99% will choose having a cop.

That decision was that masks have to worn on public transit and in other places. They hire police to enforce such decisions. I would do ZERO enforcement on that nonsense. Police do not have the option to decide which of these decisions is nonsense. If individual police officers have a conscientious reason for not enforcing such decisions, they should seek different employment.

Since I am vaccinated, a criminal attack is far more likely than a covid infection to cause me serious harm. But if I get a mild covid infection and pass it along to my wife, the results could be disastrous. Who the hell do public servants think they are to expose my wife to such a deadly risk?
