"Should the hospitals deny treatment for it?"

Absolutely not. Theres no mention in the hippocratic oath that allows for exceptions.

You're just being "cute", because you agree that the unvaccinated should be "punished", an unprecedented move if ever there ever was one.

About the same number as develop heart disease develop some kind of cancer, close to 1 in 5. My father died from liver cancer, but that was still attributable to some other cause as he had given up smoking two decades earlier.

There's also this study from eleven years ago explaining how certain smokers may avoid lung cancer in particular.

My grandfather started smoking in his teens, when he had to drop out of school to work to support his mother and younger siblings (peer pressure from the older men at his job). Eventually, he got his HS equivalency (today's GED) and worked for first the NYCBT and later NYCTA (trolley motorman/bus driver/BMT motorman). But no matter how he tried, he couldn't stop smoking. He was concerned about lung cancer, especially after a celebrity (may have been Nat King Cole) died from it. But his lungs were fine. Apparently the carcinogens (sp?) passed by the throat, esphoguas (sp) and lungs and settled in his stomach. And that was what took him away at age 57.

Exactly. All of the people who are decrying the allocation of the medicines are ignoring that THERE IS NOT ENOUGH. It’s not about punishing people, but it’s about making sure that the supply that exists is allocated fairly. If there actually were enough for everyone this wouldn’t be an issue.

I had started smoking as a lad of 14 years old and went to a pack per day.
When I was 21, I had a summer cold during the month of June, and after hacking and spitting phlegm while running downhill to catch a bus, I swore off smoking until the next morning, lit up, and started hacking again. I repeated the same oath.
I quit! Cold Turkey.
My so-called friends said I wouldn't last and blew smoke in my face to tempt me.
It just gave me additional willpower. I would not let those weak-willed idiots sway me.
I haven't smoked since. Fifty-eight years of clean lungs.
They did me a favor.

There are varying levels of severity. But...using your logic, shouldn't they go to the unvaccinated first, as they are in grave danger while the vaccinated have protection? 🤔 Sounds like a no-brainer.

They should go to the people who are unvaccinated because they are immunocompromised or too young, as they are in the most danger.

"Weak willed idiots" is a little strong. I've seen alcoholics, junkees, crack heads, coke fiends, barbiturate/amphetamine addicts give it all up. But they never could stop smoking. Nicotine is one of the most addictive substances on the planet.
I know this from living with my father. He smoked 2 packs a day of the red pack unfiltered lung busting Pall Malls. One night he got up & was out of cigarettes. So he went thru the garbage looking for a smokeable butt. He found one & snached one of my moms bobby pins from her head while she slept. He grabbed the butt & using the bobby pin lit it to get a nicotine hit that got him thru the rest of the night. I just happened to be awake (taking a pee) to see all this.
I'd ask him, "Hey pop...ever think about quitting smoking??"
His answer was, "did you ever think of measuring me for a straight jacket?? For without cigarettes, i'd go crazy!"
He made it to 73 when the "Big C" got him in both lungs.
He quit the hard way...when he quit breathing.

Nicotine is one of the most addictive substances on the planet.
I had a smoker, my boss, tell me all about nicotine, he said the same thing.

For myself, I briefly tried to smoke as a teen, my family doctor told me I had asthma , and to make a choice there and then. I quit after that and glad I did.

I have but two comments to make on this subject.

ANYONE WHO TRUSTS THEIR HEALTHCARE TO THE BENEVOLENCE OF THE GOVERNMENT IS A FOOL.

ANYONE WHO BELIEVES THAT GOVERNMENT WOULD NOT WEAPONIZE HEALTHCARE FOR POLITICAL GAIN IS A MORON.

This is your proof.

I can also attest to the strength of the addiction.

My parents smoked about 1.5 million cigarettes between them.

My father managed to quit at 76 because his doctor warned him he would probably lose his legs otherwise. He lived to 83 before dying of COPD.

My mother never quit except for a few weeks following an emergency operation at age 80 for a smoking-caused aneurysm. She died at 87 of another aneurysm, and was found with a burnt-out cigarette in her hand.
