The Washington Post reported Monday that Trump fears financial insecurity could affect his re-election chances in November. “No one reached out to me and said, ‘As a senior citizen, are you willing to take a chance on your survival in exchange for keeping the America that America loves for its children and grandchildren?’" Patrick said on Fox News Monday night. “And if that is the exchange, I’m all in.” More than 800 people in Texas have tested positive for coronavirus. At least eight have died so far. |

It's the 2% chance (just a guess, but justified by the facts) of remaining alive but permanently disabled with extremely limited respiratory ability that I am not willing to accept. Both of my parents had long term COPD and it's pretty miserable. By the way, 1% is 3.3 million Americans. Many of those 1% would end up dying painful deaths on gurneys in hospital corridors. There wouldn't be any end-of-life palliative care available for the vast majority of them. |
