That's because bthe liberals in power feel that rather than getting rid of the shit, the piss, the tents or the needles, it's more important to call ex-cons and juvenile delinquents by softer and politically correct euphemisms. But the whole recent move to dilute felony being a permanent disqualification from voting is misguided. Perhaps the closest that any state has come to a sensible solution is Alabama, which has a list of felonies involving moral turpitude. But it would really uphold legal norms much better to reclassify felonies that do not involve moral turpitude as misdemeanors. |
