Not according to the medical examiner. Are you a qualified medical examiner? No. You are not. It was determined he was killed because of the chokehold. Thus, there WAS a chokehold, and the video shows Pantaleo doing just that.

If it was anyone else besides Eric Garner, even at his size...the medics would have gotten the unconscious person to Seaview hospital in minutes. They all took their time in getting Garner PTO a stretcher and were in no hurry to let him die.

Corruption in government is a fact of life in todays society, no matter where you go. Its tolerated as long as it don't get too corrupt.
Reminds me of dock workers & long shoremen working the piers on the west side all those years ago. 5% pilferage was a tolerated norm back then. If it got any worse, the bosses came down hard with arrests, dismissals & sometimes beatings.
Same with gov't. If corruption gets too deep, out comes the boot come election day. Maybe with some "assisted suicides" thrown in for good measure.

Cops in NYC should no longer respond in those neighborhoods where they currently face violent mobs of Ra is thugs or where they do not enjoy community support. Think of the movie, "Escape From New York" where the savages rule by their own violence and social order. Save your pensions. Do your 20 and walk.

"Pantaleo's base pay was $76,488 — as it was in fiscal year 2014, when he made a total of $99,915 with overtime while working as a plainclothes anti-crime cop.

In fiscal year 2016, which ended in July, his base pay was bumped up to $78,026 — and he somehow made a total of $119,996 while riding a desk. Over $23,000 of that was in overtime, while another $12,853 came from "unspecified pay," which Politico New York reported could include bonuses or retroactive pay."

How should the police quickly subdue a violent perp? The solution is simple. If he does not obey verbal commands, and actively resists getting handcuffed, a quick wooden shampoo or a slapper does wonders. There's none of this dancing around nonsense while trying to plead with him to stop and to comply.

Pantaleo's assignment was kept a secret, the NYPD says, ostensibly "for his own protection".

I'm not sure I buy that. My guess, given the volatility of the case, is that he was in Building Maintenance or a VIPER unit. The VIPER unit is full of cops who have been modified.
