Corruption in government is a fact of life in todays society, no matter where you go. Its tolerated as long as it don't get too corrupt.Reminds me of dock workers & long shoremen working the piers on the west side all those years ago. 5% pilferage was a tolerated norm back then. If it got any worse, the bosses came down hard with arrests, dismissals & sometimes beatings. Same with gov't. If corruption gets too deep, out comes the boot come election day. Maybe with some "assisted suicides" thrown in for good measure. |
