I never said anything about a "black accent", I said AOC has a regional accent, which the DC likely played with on the audio track of their video.Don't you think it's strange that the only sites "reporting" AOC's purported "fake accent" are Fox News and the Daily Caller? Regional accents will creep into almost anyone's speech. For example, Benjamin Netanyahu has a noticeable Philly accent, detectable even to his Hebrew-speaking listeners. It's the result of his Cheltenham upbringing. InB4 "anti-Semitic post!" |

Bibi came to the US in the early Sixties as a child, with his father, who was here to teach at UPenn. He attended and graduated from Cheltenham High School, where he was on the soccer team.Cheltenham is to Philly what Yonkers is to The Bronx, and it is a well-known fact that Bibi speaks with a Philly accent. I live in Philly now, and the regional dialect here is very noticeable to my New Yorker ears. Every native Philadelphian I work with here, conversely, picks up my Queens accent right away. |

Typically, junior members of the majority party preside so they can learn parliamentary procedure. Same in the Senate. Representatives and Senators from MD and VA are also assigned with some frequency to gavel a chamber in to and out of session for the purpose of preventing recess appointments or other things that might trigger due to the chamber being out of session, regardless of seniority. |
