By what reasoning? How does this cause you quantifiable harm? It's well known that fewer guns reduces gun crime, suicide, and gun accidents.

It was the basis for doing that amendment. Slave owners wanted to be free to roust posses to capture runaway slaves. They demanded that these posses be armed, and keeping lethal arms in ,the home exonerated them from having to procure, provide, maintain and store weapons for said posses.

And removes guns from the population which reduce gun crime, including (former?) gun owners, as the chance for having that gun stolen is reduced if the number of guns in a home is zero.

They all had strict gun laws by the time they turned to shit. That's how they were able to maintain power through those times.

Mao's Great Leap backward could have resulted in an early end to Chinese communism had any meaningful armed resistance been possible. Taiwan (which still maintains the name Republic of China) would have easily been able to re-establish control.

The only purpose for a gun is to kill.

Cars have many many uses, primarily conveyance from point a to point b. They also haul qwap around, instead of having to use one's own back to do so. Saves medical expense for all those badbacks.

I do. But there has to be quantifiable damages to prompt a change in regulation. Fact is SP didn't demonstrate how not owning a semiautomatic rifle, while other rifles are available to him, causes any actual tangible damage. So banning semiautomatic rifles (by which we mean high speed assault weapons)stands.

First, I already own a semiautomatic firearm, and therefore if it were banned, I would suffer damage due to the loss of my property.

Second, a semiautomatic firearm provides an advantage over a different kind of action.

On an unrelated matter, now you're changing your argument. So you really meant not to ban all semiautomatic firearms, but "assault weapons." Please define assault weapons and explain why their dangerous outweighs their benefit.

Doing an assault weapon ban mandates a buyback. Turn in the gun and receive a check. Use those funds to buy a legal lethal weapon if you must. The government can't simply confiscate property without compensation. So they must compensate owners,
Iike the did in Australia and will be doing in New Zealand.

Which involves killing. And more often than not,the kill is successful. You can also obtain meat with a spear, dart or bow and arrow.

Anything that can propel a bullet at high speed, accommodate an Unreasonable number of bullets and be converted readily to a full automatic weapon is an assault weapon. Their only purpose is killing, people in particular.

A hunter should be able totake a deer down with one or two shots. Otherwise, they really have no business hunting. Legal weapons like AR-15s are pointless, and even dangerous(damage to forest, potential for stray bullets taking down other h7 terms for example), for hunting.

1. All guns can propel a bullet at high speed. You’d have to define high speed. Of course, one thing that slows down a bullet is a suppressor (aka silencer), but you probably want those banned.

2. Define unreasonable number of bullets and accommodate how? What if the gun takes removable magazines, and such magazine can have a high capacity, but the user does not have any such magazine and has no intention of using one?

3. What sorts of features on a firearm do you believe would make it convertible to fully automatic and how do you believe such a thing could be done?

4. Killing other animals and even people in extreme circumstances is justifiable.

5. What feature of the AR-15 do you believe causes damage to nature that would be unavailable in a different gun?

Did you know that even New York does not ban the “AR-15” as such?

I don't think you realize what you do. You take your personal opinions, and you foist
them as fact. Who are you to say that a hunter only needs one or two shots? If you ever went hunting, sometimes that's impractical. Sometimes the animal is hit but still alive. You sound like the people who say, whenever there is a fatal police shooting, oh, why didn't they shoot him in the arm? That's just not the way real life works.
