The overwhelming majority of single family homes in the LA area have significant fences. Especially in lower income areas where crime is more common. Seems fairly analogous. |

More analogous for the 10% to 20% of the border whose American side is suburban or low density urban.Not analogous for the 1000+ miles of border where the US side requires a 100 mile walk through the desert once you've crossed. Very few houses in LA have a 100 mile expanse of desert in their front yard. |

No one watches your home when you're away just like no one watches the fence. Neither are effective in stopping anyone. Criminals/migrants are forced to be ever so slightly more creative. Yet people install fences to feel safer.To continue the analogy, what we need to do at the border after building the wall is to release about 10 million pit bulls. That would do the trick. |

Wanting to build a wall is an emotional response, not a well thought out solution.I recall reading that e-verify couldn't handle all jobs, but I would imagine spending the billions intended for the wall would make it possible. But if you think that people (Democrats, latinx, socialists, etc) are anti-wall and anti-ice, just wait until something that would actually work is presented. People that have jobs, work, and raise a family would lose their jobs. Our economy might even crash, certainly California would. |
