People like Alexandria Cortez-Ocasio, no doubt.Someone will try to introduce legislation prohibiting reduction of work hours solely due to a salary raise. That will force stores to close completely. |

Do you understand that the government has no right to audit anyone's finances without good cause shown that a crime is being committed? Do you understand the concept of privacy? If making a profit is a crime, then we might as well close up the entire country and move to Cuba. Not to mention the cost of employing thousands of government agents who are to perform these audits. Who is going to pay them? Let me guess: the taxpayers! |

They have no obligation to even remain in business or hire anyone.I predict more automation. Restaurants will give guests tablets to place their orders and they will be delivered by robots, like that mail robot from The Americans. Maybe someone will bring back the automat. Also you know how in Japan they have conveyor belt sushi? I predict more of that. |

Did I say government? Workers could sue and force establishments to disclose their earnings and projections, sure the restaurants could close a response. However it would send a message that workers wont simply be used as staging pawns. |

Automation comes whether or not, it happened in the auto industry. Its happening even in transit. Workers that cant quit, dont strike, dont need medical. The $15 is just an excuse to use. |

Automation is happening anyway. Restaurant owners have enough trouble finding workers who can get themselves a reasonable place to live at the wages they pay, even when those wages are $15.I would contend that the $15 wage is only a slight acceleration of what supply and demand is causing, perhaps occasionally cutting demand and occasionally getting somebody their $15 a few years earlier than they would be getting paid that anyway (or lose their job anyway even in the absence of the $15 minimum wage). |

Thats the question, they could go the racial route and declare that it disappropriately affects X or Y race. There are many resturants luckily paying fair wages and removing tips altogether, hopefully such a trend will continue. |
