Re: McCabe Fired Just Short Of Pension Eligibility

JayZ's example may have been 8 months short of his early retirement date, and might now have had to wait until his regular retirement date, which could have been much later.

The same seems to be true of McCabe. His was fired 2 days short of his age-50 special early retirement date. Now he has to wait until his earliest regular retirement date of age 60.

Firing simply "for cause" never affects a pension. In some jurisdictions, you can lose your pension for criminal activity related to your work, but not just because you broke the rules.

Oh please he backed the Comey Russian investigation and from then on the target was on his back the fix was in. They could have fired him before but they purposely chose 2 day before his pension eligibility Todo it to really be cruel about it. This a professional hit job Lets not put lipstick on a pig here.

I'm hardly an authority on pensions but your comments are similar to what I said. The ultimate implication being that what McCabe is accused of may yet lead to criminal prosecution. Neither you nor I know exactly how the FBI pensions are set up.

If it were Scott Pruitt, it could well be interpreted more strongly as an instruction. But Sessions has a history of not doing things just because Trump wishes them.

I'm not totally convinced that Sessions acted incorrectly. If the FBI disciplinary office made a convincing case that McCabe acted dodgily with respect to the WSJ interview, it would be weird for him to act differently.

Just because McCabe may have done proper things that Trump couldn't stand doesn't mean he didn't do an improper thing that hurt Clinton, and the FBI's reputation.

We have no proof of justifications, one way or the other. If it is, it is. The report upon which this is based has not been released.

But taking the guy's pension, harming his innocent family, is just heinous.

It is for THAT reason that this is pinned as political. Then add trump's gloating in tweets about it for another layer of proof. That’s reallyreallyreally bad form and totally uncalled for.

I've been told it's common practice if not an emergency situation (stealing, violence etc) for supervision to fire or lay people off on a Friday and at the end of the day so they can milk the last bit of work out of them as they possibly can... Cold-blooded.

That's still not right. Plus, consider that his family finances are going to be shaken up for much longer than that, especially if he needs additional loans to get through that time. This firing was heinous. It could have been handled much differently. It wasn’t. Then trump goes and gloats on Twitter about it?

He had planned to retire this spring. So his family set up their finances to do that. We don't know, that kind of stuff is private, and I wouldn't want his family to be harmed by this.

I do believe his statement. There's nothing to counter it. Until the report stating why he should be fired is released, and over what exactly, can't say much more than that. This is the only real information we have.

???

If you fire them on Thursday you only have to pay them through Thursday, so I don't get how that makes a difference.

I think it's to give the people who weren't fired time to cool off over the weekend. If you fire people on Monday the rest of the group won't work hard for the whole rest of the week.
