If it were Scott Pruitt, it could well be interpreted more strongly as an instruction. But Sessions has a history of not doing things just because Trump wishes them.I'm not totally convinced that Sessions acted incorrectly. If the FBI disciplinary office made a convincing case that McCabe acted dodgily with respect to the WSJ interview, it would be weird for him to act differently. Just because McCabe may have done proper things that Trump couldn't stand doesn't mean he didn't do an improper thing that hurt Clinton, and the FBI's reputation. |
