As I understand city pensions, once you are vested, if you are forced to retire or are fired you are still eligible for your pension at your retirement age, albeit at rate reduced by your actual time in service. So while I don't dispute your claim that this individual was forced out, he did not lose his pension and likely collected it 8 months later.This is hardly the same as the McCabe case where he was not just forced to retire but was fired " for cause." |
