Killing cattle specifically raised for food is not cruel. It's nature. Killing for pleasure is cruel (though I'm not arguing all hunting is bad). When you stab a dog for no real reason, you should go to jail. I'm particularly sensitive about cruelty concerning dogs because mankind has interferred with a dog's evolutionary process which we've, over the centuries, bred out all the necessary survivial instincts and have made them totally dependant on mankind for it's survival. |

Human beings have the mental and physical capacity to defend themselves from other humans. Dogs do not. That being said, I agree that sometimes we tend to value a dog's life over a human's. I don't advocate that at all. A dog is a lower life form. But that doesn't permit cruelty and arbitrary killing. |
