There have been rumors of Northern Ireland voting to split and rejoin Ireland proper sometime in the near-ish future. Is there anything to that or was it just drunken speculation coming out of Thursday night?

If yea, do you think they'll pull it off?

On the one hand, the US may have broken away the same way Canada and Australia did - over tea, and only "effectively" while still keeping the monarch on the money.

On the other hand, if the US had not broken away via revolution, someone else may have, and the dominoes would have simply fallen later.

But the colonies would have been expensive for Britain too. In the end, the Napoleonic Wars might have caused another taxation problem, which could cause the colonies to try for independence (again?).

Star Trek (the original series) had a light budget, but the stories were better.

45% of the Northern Irish voted to Leave the EU.

That's a good starting baseline to stay in the UK.
However rumor (rumour?) has it that Catholics voted for Leave on purpose so as to trigger the scenario you described.
