Krugman also had an intersting column pointing out how much Trump's economic pronouncements contradict the Republican party line.Krugman's inference, which I'm not sure I buy, is that the Republican electorate isn't as wedded to the standard voodoo economics as people have thought it was. It may just be that this electorate doesn't process informational inputs very quickly. |

What I want to see is how much the other GOP nominees see behind the Trump bluster to the positions he's taking on issues.As for Hillary, her one best chance is to start running openly against Obama. But in 2016, I would vote for Clinton, Biden, or Sanders over any of the current Republican field. I don't expect the Democrat to repudiate Obama. |

My man is John Kasich. He has been a tremendous governor of Ohio. His approval ratings there are still outstanding, and, remember this..... the Republicans never lost Ohio and won the Presidency, and Kasich can carry that. He and Rubio would be a most formidable combo that I believe can carry the day, He comes from a blue collar background, his father being a mail carrier and his grandma a factory worker. He carried 86 or 88 counties last year including heavily Democratic Cayouga County (sic). His record as House Budget Chairman a decade and a half ago resulted in the first balanced budget in over two generations and he achieved that twice. He has legislative and executive experience, rate among the candidates, and is a conservative who has a strong feeling for people less fortunate than himself and he walks that walk. If the GOP wants to win, he is the guy to do it. |

Those that stand for nothing will fall for anything, as the old saying goes, and it does no good to cite the Dems' mischaracterization as truth.Kasich is another Romney; an establishment candidate that stands for little or nothing. A Medicaid expander who misuses the Bible for the purpose of growing "Caesar" so now he'll guarantee less availability of medical care. He played fast and loose with the Ohio state sales tax, cutting it a half of a percentage point but vastly increasing what you get charged sales tax for. He plays both sides of the fence with respect to abortion and "SSM". It'll take a lot to get him out of that 2 percent polling bracket. |

Sales taxes are onerus, those who can afford to can easily purchase out of state where items are taxed less or not at all (western NY makes good $$$ off traveling ohioans looking for low-tax clothing I'd bet). The place is completely inundated with "people" who act like infant chimpanzees and although their crazy antics are entertaining for awhile, they're simply not capable of rational thought and expecting them to act like adults is simply a waste of time. |
